Short-Term, otherwise known as as Catastrophic Health Insurance, is a great alternative to a fully insured plan for those that need less coverage, are facing high COBRA premiums, or need gap coverage between other plans.

Be advised, it is not available in every state (CA, CO, and WA do not have short-term plans) and may be subject to term maximums.
